School Board Trustee Elections
As Chair of Public Interest Alberta’s Education Task Force, I welcome you to Public Interest Alberta’s school board trustee candidate survey responses. School boards and trustees play an important role in setting policy for the day-to-day operation of public schools and the education of our children.
Public Interest Alberta invited Trustee candidates for both public and Catholic public school boards in Edmonton, Calgary, and Lethbridge to complete a set of survey questions on a variety of pertinent topics on Survey Monkey. Though not all candidates responded, you will find the responses to be a useful tool in making an informed choice as you go to the polls and vote. The information should also be of value to you during your trustee’s term of office, providing you with points for discussion with him or her as the board makes its policy decisions.
On behalf of Public Interest Alberta, I also thank the trustee candidates who responded to our survey. It is you who have made this the powerful tool that it is. Thank you further for believing so strongly in public education and Catholic public education that you made the decision to offer your candidacy. We trust that those of you who will be elected will make a difference in school board governance and the education of the children in your school district.
Sincerely
Harold Neth
