Background

Globally and locally we are facing serious environmental crises.There is growing awareness of the need to re-think and re-work our relationship with the environment and make sustainability paramount if we are to have a healthy planet to support our children and communities in the future.

As part of addressing these challenges, the Public Interest Alberta Environment Task Force was created in the spring of 2006 as a venue to better link the disparate groups working on environmental issues in Alberta and to broaden the discussion to issues of the public interest. The Environment Task Force is also a bridge between the environmental community and Albertans from all walks of life.
