Ending Poverty in Alberta - Report

Alberta Child Poverty Increases 40%

The Edmonton Social Planning Council, Public Interest Alberta and the Alberta College of Social Workers released a new report entitled In This Together: Ending Poverty in Alberta. This report shows the number of children living in poverty rose dramatically from 53,000 to 73,000 in just one year (from 2008 to 2009).

The In This Together: Ending Poverty in Alberta report also presents many recommendations that would benefit not only those individuals and families living in poverty, but will have a very positive impact on strengthening our communities and our economy.
